Toros Humic Plus is a product containing humic and fulvic acids originating from leonardite, which helps plants benefit better from plant nutrients applied with fertilizers, when applied in areas with very insufficient organic matter and especially in orchards and greenhouses. By regulating the pH of the root zone soil in the area where it is applied, it supports the applied nutrients to remain in the forms that the plants can benefit from.

Toros Humic Plus is a product containing humic-fulvic acid originating from leonardite, which has a granular structure and is suitable for soil applications.

Scientific studies show that the humic substances in the structure of Toros Humic Plus have three main benefits when evaluated agriculturally:

  • Root volume and growth improve
  • Increases the availability and uptake of nutrients
  • The yield and quality of the obtained product is higher

Possible mechanisms/processes that lead to the emergence of these benefits of humic substances are given below:

  • The presence of carbon-containing humic substances in the soil causes very small soil particles to attract each other to form a granular structure in the surface soil that provides open spaces that allow gas exchanges (aeration) with the atmosphere and better water infiltration. This resulting soil structure also increases the water holding capacity of the soils and thus supports the protection of plants against drought.
  • The energy stored in the carbon bonds of humic substances is an excellent source of nutrients for soil microorganisms, which have many different tasks that contribute to soil and plant health, such as the solubilization of minerals in the soil, the secretion of antibiotics that protect plants from diseases.
  • Humic substances have an insulating property that helps stabilize soil temperatures and slow the rate of water evaporation, which protects plants during periods of heat and cold change.
  • Humic substances can stabilize or inactivate some soil enzymes secreted by plant pathogens, making them less harmful to plants.
  • In addition, humic substances also buffer the soil pH, preventing the soil pH from shifting to alkaline or acidic direction. This helps plants to use micronutrients that may be bound in the soil in useless forms due to acidic or alkaline conditions.
  • Among the additional benefits of these substances are the degradation or inactivation of the toxins left by the pesticides in the soil by humic acids and the creation of more suitable environments for the growth of plants in the soil by helping to reduce the salt concentration without adding humic substances to saline soils.
  • Humic substances also regulate the retention and release of plant nutrients. The higher cation exchange capacity (CDC) that occurs when HS is present in the soil increases the soil's ability to retain positively charged plant nutrients (e.g. NH4+,Mg2+, Ca2+ and Na+) while increasing the potential for leaching.
reduces. Soil KDK also influences the application rates of lime and herbicides required for peak effectiveness.
  • When there are sufficient levels of humic substances in the soil, the plants' ability to take up nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium increases, as a result – the required NPK fertilizers are reduced.
  • The application of humic or fulvic acids to seeds accelerates seed germination, increases root development and activates the growing points of the sprouts.
  • Humic substances affect plant growth hormones and provide plant cells with free radicals that have positive effects on seed germination, root initiation and plant growth in general.
  • Although not fertilizers themselves, humic and fulvic acids are excellent fertilizer carriers and activators. Foliar fertilizers containing humic or fulvic acids have been shown to be 100% to 500% more effective than similar fertilizers applied to the soil. The timing of applications can be adjusted to activate vegetative growth, flowering, fruit set or fruit filling and ripening.
