It meets the nitrogen needs of plants with both soil and foliar application. Its formula is CO(NH2)2 - 46% N (nitrogen). It is an amide fertilizer because it contains carbon (C) and the nitrogen in its structure is in the form of NH2. Although it dissolves easily in water, the nitrogen (NH2) in its body is not in a form that can be immediately taken up by plant roots.

In order for the nitrogen in its body to become useful, the urea bacteria in the soil must convert the urea into ammonium (NH4) nitrogen form by enzymatic reaction. For this, the temperature of the soil and the amount (concentration) of urea bacteria in the soil are important. For this reason, urea fertilizer is in the slow-acting fertilizer group.

Important Features

  • All of the nitrogen it contains is in organic form.
  • It dissolves quickly and very much in water, making it useful for plants.
  • Urea nitrogen is not immediately taken up by plants. The bacteria in the soil first converts urea nitrogen to ammonium nitrogen and then to nitrate nitrogen.
  • It does not cause alkalinity in the soil and does not increase the pH value.
  • It is the most suitable nitrogen form for foliar application.
  • It increases the quality of the product by increasing the amount of protein.
  • It can be used as base and top fertilizer in all plants.
  • Top fertilization of plants such as wheat and barley should be applied before the rains.
  • In summer plants, urea fertilizer should be mixed with the soil and applied before irrigation.
  • There is no loss of nitrogen in the application by sprinkling on extreme cold and snow.
  • Since the nitrogen rate is very high, it creates rapid development in plants.
  • Meadow is the most suitable fertilizer for fertilizing pasture fields.

Where to use?

Urea is very useful in almost all kinds of crops and fertilization of tobacco seedlings to meet the nitrogen needs of plants. When urea is given insufficiently, the development of the plant slows down, the leaves turn yellow, and the yield decreases. Urea can be used at all stages of plant development.
