Zinc (Zn) is one of the main components in many enzymes in plants, animals and humans. Zinc (Zn) also plays a role in the metabolism of auxin hormone in plants. In zinc (Zn) deficiency, auxin and gibberellin levels drop seriously. Zinc (Zn) is involved in the formation of tryptophan, promoting vegetative growth. Tryptophan causes the formation of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) and thus auxin production. Auxin affects root development and fruit quality. Of course, apart from this example, it is also used in many other metabolic activities within the plant.
