According to the Agricultural Outlook report prepared by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), avocados will be the most traded tropical fruit in the 2021-2030 period.

Although Peru, Colombia and Kenya, the three largest avocado producers, continue to increase their production, Mexico, the world's largest avocado producer and exporter, is expected to increase its production by 5.2% in the next 10 years due to the increase in demand from the American market.

With the increasing production and demand, Mexico's share of the global avocado export market is expected to increase to 63% in 2030.

Given the high average unit prices, the total value of world avocado exports will reach an estimated $8.3 billion, thus positioning the avocado as one of the most valuable fruits on the market.
