A new variety of BASF's plum cherry tomato is expected to perform well in the market with its moderate resistance.
Stating that this new variety has proven its performance in two seasons trials in different locations such as Sinaloa, Bajio, Baja, California and Southern Mexico, Nunhems sales team stated that the variety shows reliable resistance under light and heavy virus pressure. Nunhems sales team said that with the positive results obtained at the end of these trials, the variety will respond to the demand for quality cherry tomatoes from Mexico, the USA and Canada, and that the variety will be preferred by consumers with its attractive appearance, shelf life and aroma.
Fruits infected with " Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) ", which is easily and quickly transmitted, cannot be sold. However, since plants and fruits with moderate resistance to this virus can be sold, these varieties become more reliable for producers.
