Bayer announces trials of Roma-type tomatoes resistant to tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) .

Bayer's trials, which began in Mexico, include two different Roma tomato cultivars that claim moderate resistance (IR) to tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) .

These two types are called “asymptomatic stones” . The virus shows its symptoms in leaves or fruit, or little or no.

An opinion was also given for the addition of tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) , which is an important issue in terms of aquaculture, to the tomato pathogen list at the International Seed Federation (ISF) meeting held in September.

Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) was first observed in 2014 and has spread rapidly to different parts of the world. This viral disease, which can quickly destroy the tomato crop, poses serious problems for growers as it can be easily transmitted in many ways, including agricultural tools and equipment, hands of workers, plants, water, soil and people.
