In 2021, China's shelled walnut exports increased 1.5 times and reached 110-115 tons. China earned $420 million from this record walnut export.

With these figures, China can take the third place in the world walnut export ranking, surpassing Chile in 2021.

The three largest buyers of Chinese walnuts are Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

In 2021, China increased its exports to Russia, the main buyer of its walnuts, more than one and a half times. But unexpectedly, the UAE became the main buyer of Chinese walnuts in 2021, with imports increasing 3.5 times. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took the second and third places.
