In 2021, an average yield of 2,99 kg per m2 was obtained in eggplant production on an area of 1,961,799 hectares worldwide.

With a yield of 52.2 kg per m2 in 2021, the Netherlands was the country with the best performance in terms of m2/kg, Mexico was the second best performing country with 7.86 kg/m2 and Spain was the third best performing country with 7.39 kg/m2. .

In this period, Turkey achieved an average yield of 4.82 kg per m2 in eggplant production.

The World's Largest Eggplant Producer Countries

China, which meets 63.81% of the world eggplant production alone, in 2021; It has become the world's largest eggplant producing country with a production of 37 million 424 thousand 980 tons.

China achieved a yield of 4.66 kg per m2 in 803.028 hectares of land.

India, the second largest producer, produced 12 million 874 thousand tons in 2021 with a yield of 1.72 kg per m2 on an area of 749.000 hectares.

Egypt was the third largest producer in 2021 with an average yield of 2,75 kg and a production of 1 million 286 thousand 470 tons on an area of 46,801 hectares.

Turkey, the world's fourth largest eggplant producer, produced a total of 832 thousand 940 tons of eggplant with an average yield of 4.82 kg in an area of 17,285 hectares in 2021.
