According to preliminary assessments by the Valencian agricultural producers' association, a total of 20 million fruits were damaged in the districts of La Ribera, L'Horta Sud, La Safor and La Marina on 15,000 hectares corresponding to €42 million. Citrus fruits are among the most damaged fruits, while 4,000 hectares of persimmons worth €12 million and 1,000 hectares of vegetables worth €6 million are also cultivated in greenhouses.

In addition to these, ornamental plant cultivation areas built on an area of 100 hectares with a value of 4 million € are among the damaged areas.

Valencian agricultural producers' association; It is estimated that after these heavy rains, growers will spend 5 million € on fungicides and similar rejuvenation treatments to save their trees. In addition, the union warns producers that if citrus and persimmon trees are flooded for 5-6 days after these rains, there may be irreversible damage caused by root asphyxia.

After these precipitations, it is expected that a cost of 15 million € will occur for the repair of pipelines, agricultural infrastructure, greenhouses, storage areas and irrigation facilities.

Stating that they will need € 62 million in total, the Valencian agricultural producers association states that “they will see the true extent of the damage after 15-20 days, so it is not unlikely that the total figure will reach around € 80 million.”
