The best definition of agriculture; It was the definition of "one of the 7 self-sufficient countries" until the last 8-10 years. Then, we suddenly became a country that imports all kinds of agricultural products from different countries at different times from a self-sufficient country.

The number of people engaged in agriculture and living off agriculture has decreased, villages and towns have been emptied, we have suddenly become urban people. The children of the farmers, who make a small living in their village, cultivate their fields and grow their crops, flocked to the cities with many justified reasons, such as " we will not deal with agriculture anymore , agriculture is hard work and we are making losses ". While he was the owner of his own business in his village, the worker of his own field, they became the gatekeeper of the buildings in the city, the watchman of the magnificent city. They joined the group of unhappy people in the city while they continued their lives by bringing food and supplies from their mother and father, who were also engaged in farming because they could not make a living.

If the majority of our nation were not farmers, we would not be in the world today. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
Turkey, the country of agriculture, has come to the position of importing even straw due to conscious or unconscious wrong policies in agriculture.

As a country, we broke records in the import of agricultural products and as we moved away from agriculture, information pollution in agriculture increased. While the population was increasing every year, the costs of agricultural production that feed people continued to increase exponentially. While the purchasing power of the consumers decreased, the production cost of the farmers, the producers of agriculture, continued to increase. We are approaching the final turning point in agriculture. If we continue this period before this period, if we switch from producing to importing, it is already guaranteed that we will starve in the future. We are working for the country in different fields of agriculture. We are working to minimize information pollution on agriculture. Let's start the research by expressing a few common misconceptions in agriculture, and then we'll go into details.

Straw

  • Contrary to what is said, Turkey is a suitable country for growing oil crops. Those who say the opposite, knowingly or unknowingly, are making efforts to ensure that the Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) soybean can enter the country comfortably.
  • Contrary to what is known in Turkey, the information that 80-90% of the amount of roughage used in livestock is met is true but incomplete. Here, the roughage used in the term is low nutritional value such as straw and straw. Unfortunately, a very important amount of quality feed obtained from plants such as mixed feed and alfalfa-vetch, which we call real dense feed, cannot be met in our country.
  • Contrary to what is known, animal husbandry in Turkey is not done adequately and intensively. We will continue to eat imported Angus cows as the minority that can buy meat.
  • Contrary to what is known, the supports made to agricultural products are not made in sufficient amount and in the desired way, to the real input items of diesel, fertilizer, seed (it is done in small amounts). Therefore, agriculture without support will gradually decrease and foreign dependency will increase.
  • Contrary to popular belief, only 40-50% of our country's vegetable seed needs are met by domestic companies. All of this amount is covered by the private sector, and the amount of domestic seed production and use in vegetables such as tomatoes and peppers is over 60%.
  • Contrary to popular belief, almost all seeds of plant species such as potatoes, spinach, cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower and carrots are imported from abroad. In recent years, domestic potato and lettuce varieties have been developed in breeding and R&D studies, but the amount and rate of use in production is still low.
  • Contrary to what is known, companies do not apply for the entry of GMO products into the country, but eggs, livestock, etc. associations did.
  • Contrary to what is known, in terms of the point where GMO technology has come, it is not possible to determine the GMO if the foreign companies that develop GMO varieties do not want it to be known that the variety is GMO.
  • Contrary to popular belief, no hormone application is made in pepper, cucumber, watermelon and melon. In recent years, hormone application in eggplant and tomato has gradually decreased and has reached a level that is almost non-existent. Hormone application is made only in zucchini, which is one of the edible vegetables, under greenhouse conditions. Hormone application in open field is not common in squash.
  • Contrary to what is known, the USA and other developed countries give great support to agriculture and its farmers so that they can provide their citizens with a healthy and effective nutrition in the future.
  • Contrary to what is known, the support given to agriculture in our country does not develop agriculture, it is not effective and takes it back. For example, in our country, agricultural supports can be given to uncultivated fields, fruitless gardens, non-existent barns and empty hives. In this country, there were times when beekeeping support was given to the whole village by showing 40 beehives.
