The reopening of Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe) channels in the United States and Mexico, the assurance that the Mexico-United States tomato suspension agreement provided Mexican producers, and higher export prices encouraged Mexican producers to grow more tomatoes.

Growth in agriculture continues as Mexico's existing agricultural protection systems ensure higher yields and quality in agricultural production. About 80% of the tomatoes grown in these protected systems are exported.

However, there are some uncertainties regarding final production levels due to the ongoing drought conditions throughout the country.
