Morocco Increases Tomato Exports to England, Spain and Netherlands

During this period, Morocco lost a large part of the Russian market, while significantly increasing its exports to France, England, Spain and the Netherlands.

Morocco exported 359.35 million kilograms of tomatoes in 2020, increasing its exports to France by 6.15%, where it exported 338.51 million kilograms of tomatoes in 2016. With these figures, Morocco made the biggest export of tomatoes to France in 2020.

Morocco, which sold 32.01 million kilos of tomatoes to England in 2016, increased its exports to this country by 65% to 52.83 million kilos in 2020. The UK has become the second largest export market for Morocco in tomato exports.

Increasing its exports to Spain, the third largest market for Moroccan tomatoes, by 98% compared to 2016, Morocco increased its export figure to Spain from 20.32 million kilograms to 40.22 million kilograms .

Morocco exported 38.16 million kilograms of tomatoes in 2020 to the Netherlands, to which it exported 31.49 million kilograms of tomatoes in 2016, increasing its exports by 21%. The Netherlands was the fourth largest market for Morocco in tomato exports in 2020.

While France, England, Spain and the Netherlands, which are the 4 most important customers of Moroccan tomatoes, increased their purchases in the last 5 years, the export figures in Russia, which is the fifth largest target, followed a downward trend.

Exporting 110.2 million kilograms of tomatoes to Russia in 2016, Morocco's exports to this country decreased by 67% in 2020 to 35.72 million kilograms .
