In the traditional drip irrigation method, drip irrigation pipes are located above the ground, while in the underground drip irrigation method, they are located under the ground. The most common problem in underground drip irrigation systems is that the plant roots entering the drippers block the dripper and render the system inoperable.
In Geoflow underground drip irrigation pipes with special drippers produced with patented ROOTGUARD technology, a special substance in the drippers definitely solves this problem.
Geoflow is the first and only supplier in Turkey of the most reliable, top quality and easiest to use underground drip irrigation systems produced with Nano-ROOTGUARD technology. The ROOTGUARD technology (which means Root Keeper in Turkish) we use in underground drip irrigation pipes is unique in Turkey and in the world.
The laying depth of the pipes varies between 10 and 60 cm (10-20 cm for grass) according to the soil and plant structure. Short-term but frequent watering (sometimes more than once a day) is essential. Thus, the water movement in the capillary paths in the soil is maximized, while the soil surface is kept dry, the most efficient distribution of water to the root zone is ensured.

With Nano-ROOTGUARD technology, the drippers in the underground drip irrigation pipe are produced by integrating the dripper raw material with Rootguard. After the drip irrigation pipes are laid underground, this component in the drippers oscillates outward from the dripper at a constant speed, when necessary, creating an area around the dripper that will prevent the roots from entering. Thus, the entrance of plant roots to the drippers is definitely prevented.
With Nano-ROOTGUARD technology, which is the latest developed form of ROOTGUARD, the fight against root clogging is done much more homogeneously, precisely and for a long time, and Geoflow guarantees that the drippers are not blocked by the roots for 10 years.
In our country, the same drippers found in above-ground drip irrigation pipes are used in many other products on the market as underground drip irrigation pipes, and a special substance mixed with the irrigation water is injected into the soil through the fertilizer tank in order to prevent blockages that may be caused by the roots.
With this system, homogeneous protection against clogging cannot be provided in all parts of the field, and undesirable situations may arise in terms of human and environmental health. For this reason, this application method has been abandoned in many developed countries, especially in European countries.
