In the first half of the last five years, Spain's tomato sales to European Union member countries decreased by 117.92 million kilograms ( -27.53% ), while the sales of the Netherlands decreased by 77.56 million kilograms ( -21.05% ).

In the same period, Morocco's tomato sales to European Union member countries were 35.44 million kilos ( +18.85% ); On the other hand, Turkey's sales increased by 25.8 million kilos ( +34.46% ).

While Spain sold 310.86 million kilos of tomatoes to EU countries between January 1 and June 30, 2021, this figure was 428.27 million kilos in the same period of 2017.

While the Netherlands sold 290.87 million kilograms of tomatoes to EU countries in the same period, it fell behind by 77.56 million kilograms from the 368.43 million kilogram sales it realized in 2017.

In the first half of the last five years, Morocco's tomato exports to EU countries have been increasing year by year. In the first half of 2021, Morocco's tomato exports to EU countries increased by 15.85% compared to five years ago, reaching almost the sales figures of the Netherlands. In the first half of 2021, Morocco sold 262.84 million kilos of tomatoes to EU member states, while this figure was 227.4 million kilos in 2017.

While the tomato figures that Turkey sold to EU member states were low until 2019, they increased in 2019 and beyond. When the tomato export figures of Turkey to EU member countries in the last five years are analyzed, the export figure, which was 74.86 million kilos in 2017, reached 100.66 million kilos with an increase of 34.46 % and 25.8 million kilos in the first half of 2021.
