In the period of 1 September 2020 – 31 August 2021, 208.33 million kilos of eggplant were sold to European Union countries at a unit price of 1,15 €/kg , with a value of 240.16 million € .
During this season, Spain sold 122.13 million tons of eggplant worth €139.41 million at a unit price of €1.14/kg to the European Union, meeting 58.62% of the Union's eggplant needs and becoming the European Union's largest eggplant supplier.
The Netherlands, which is the second largest eggplant supplier of the European Union, has met 18.86% of the EU's eggplant need by selling 39.30 million kilos of eggplant at a value of € 1.15/kg unit and € 45.31 million in the 2020/2021 season.
