According to a report of data from the Spanish Center for Export Statistics (Estacom), the figures for tomato exports in Spain have been in decline for the seventh consecutive season.
While Spain exported 985,340 tons of tomatoes in the 2013/2014 season, this figure decreased to 728,790 tons in the last season, which started on August 1, 2019 and ended on July 1, 2020.
In the 2019-2020 season, Spain generated €932.03 million in revenue from tomato exports, while the unit kg price of Spanish tomatoes was €1,279 .
Top Five Countries Importing Tomatoes from Spain
In the 2019-2020 season, Germany, France and England bought 49.78% of the tomatoes exported by Spain.
Among these countries, Germany took the lead with 179,970 tons of tomato imports worth €273.08 million . In the 2019-2020 season, Germany became the highest paying country, paying 1,517 € per kg of tomatoes imported from Spain.
France followed Germany with 110,540 tons of tomato imports worth €119.72 million . France paid 1,083 € per kg of tomatoes imported from Spain.
The UK ranked third, importing 98,350 tons of tomatoes worth €121.08 million . England paid 1,231 € per kg for tomatoes imported from Spain.

The Netherlands is the fourth largest importer with 72,280 tons of tomatoes worth €87.07 million , paying 1,205 € per kg.
In fifth place, Poland, 62,380 tons of tomatoes worth € 66.29 million ; imported from 1,063 € per unit kg.
Morocco Continues to Increase Its Tomato Exports
According to the data of the United Nations Statistics Service (UN Comtrade), Morocco's tomato export, which was 372,240 tons in 2010, increased to 587,820 tons in 2019.
In 2019, the biggest buyers of Moroccan tomatoes were France with 346,940 tons , England with 62,550 tons , Russia with 52,190 tons , Spain with 49,400 tons and the Netherlands with 38,330 tons .
