Especially against underground pests, the chance of success is very limited even if it is applied repeatedly, due to the low and short-term effect of chemical pesticides. Especially if the pest settles in the inner part of the root, it makes the chance of fighting with chemical methods even more difficult.

Ecobioset , latin name Capnodis spp. It is a biological plant protection product (CPP) effective against the larvae of sapling bottom worms .

Sapling Rootworm (Capnodis), mainly stone (apricot, plum, peach, cherry, nectarine), hard-shelled (almond, pistachio) and pome (apple, pear) fruit trees, willow, hackberry, idris, It is an important pest that causes serious economic damage to figs and lamb's ears. Apart from small nurseries, especially in large fruit plantations, it is a very important pest that causes the trees to dry out slowly in a short period of 2-5 years.

Bottom worm larvae in the soil open galleries under the tree root bark and fill it with dirt and sawdust. Bottom worm larvae feed by gnawing the cambium layer over time. By multiplying, it damages the tree's vascular bundles and limits the tree's nutrient uptake from the soil. Over time, they first slow down the growth of trees and stop them. If no struggle is made, it will cause the tree to dry completely over time and then die.

Bottom worm adults, on the other hand, cause damage by eating the buds and fresh leaves of the trees. They also lay their eggs in the graft places of the tree. The larvae that emerge from the eggs also prevent the tree from taking the graft.

Ekobioset has been licensed as a BME (biological control agent) against Capnodis (Sapling Rootworm) in Pistachio, Almond, Apricot, Cherry, Peach, Plum and Apple trees.

With the Entomo Pathogen Nematode (EPN) it contains, it is possible to successfully fight by infecting the Capnodis (Seedling Rootworm) larvae.

  • The first Capnodis larval deaths begin 15-20 days after the application.
  • The ecobioset continuously reproduces in each dead larval cadaver and migrates to other larvae as new hosts.
  • Since Ekobioset is a biological product, it cannot gain harmful resistance.
  • A significant increase in yield and quality is achieved.
  • Ekobioset is a natural product that does not harm users and the environment.
  • Without residue in fruit growing, with zero waiting time, harvesting without waiting for producers, safe food advantage is provided to consumers.
